Introduction

TWINT is a mobile wallet suported by the main banks in Switzerland. A user links a bank account or debit or credit card to the TWINT app. The app supports money transfers and payments via QR code at participating online and offline merchants. A prepaid top-up version of TWINT is available. A user can also save a loyalty card in the TWINT wallet.

Payment Flow

1. Generate a sessionToken.

2. Perform the payment by sending a /payment request with the following mandatory parameters:

The response returns a redirectUrl which redirects the customer to the payment page and a userPaymentOptionId (UPO) for use in future transactions.

After the transaction is processed, Nuvei sends a Direct Merchant Notification (DMN) that includes the result of the transaction to the URL provided in urlDetails.notificationUrl, which Nuvei recommends including in the /payment request.

Payment via Desktop

• • 1. User selects the TWINT payment option on the merchant payment page.
    2. User is redirected to a page in the TWINT application with a QR code and a PIN code.
       
    3. User scans the QR code or enters the pin code in the TWINT application.
       
    4. User confirms the deposit in the TWINT application.
       
    5. User completes the payment in the TWINT application.
       A success message appears.

Payment via Mobile Device

• • 1. User selects the TWINT payment option on the merchant payment page.
    2. User is redirected to a page in the TWINT application with a ‘Switch to APP’ button and PIN code.
       
    3. User clicks the ‘Switch to APP’ button and is prompted to confirm the payment.
       
    4. User completes the payment in the TWINT application.
       A success message appears.
