- Payment Flow Comparison
Token Flow:
1. Nuvei sends enhanced risk data via Get Payment Data API when requesting a cryptogram
3. Authorization sent with TAVV (cryptogram) + ECI 7
4. Visa enriches auth message with additional risk data and DCAP indicator
5. Issuer makes decision and DCAP indicator returned to Nuvei
PAN flow:
- Nuvei sends enhanced risk data via 3DS in a Data Only flow
3. Authorization sent with CAVV (from 3DS) + ECI 7
4. Visa enriches auth message with additional risk data and DCAP indicator
5. Issuer makes decision and DCAP indicator returned to Nuvei - Risks / Considerations
- It’s not clear whether Issuers will provide the fraud and approval rate benefits promised
• Missing data elements will cause the DCAP requests to be unsuccessful and standard interchange will be applied
• Dependent on merchants having the correct API implementation and sending all the required fields – device ID in particular is not something that is often provided by clients
