The Data Enrichment interface allows merchants to provide both additional or missing information for transactions processed by Nuvei (internal), and full information for transactions that were processed by another PSP and not through the Nuvei API (external). These transaction details are passed to Visa’s dispute management platform – Visa Resolve Online (VROL).
This supplemental information is combined with the related transaction data and is made available to the dispute issuer. With this enhanced level of detail, the dispute issuer is able to make a better decision on whether to file a dispute claim and if so, what type of dispute claim. It can be used for all dispute categories, such as chargebacks and fraud. This level of merchant purchase and customer account information is not normally made available until well into the dispute process. Needless and invalid disputes can be avoided by providing the dispute analyst with this information and VROL’s decision logic up front before a decision is made to file a dispute claim.
The interface consists of two tabs:
Upload Tab
This tab allows you to upload the CSV files that contain transaction data.
File Upload Guidelines
You can press Download Sample CSV File to download a sample CSV file, which you can then use to upload to the system for validation. The system automatically identifies your industry and if the transactions are internal or external, and a corresponding sample file is downloaded.
The sample file includes:
- Relevant parameters
- Sample data
- Whether the field can contain multiple values
- Whether the parameter is mandatory or optional
- The structure of each parameter
- A description of each parameter
File Structure
Parameters in the following categories are considered “list” parameters, which means that they can contain multiple values:
- Custom fields
- Hotel info
- Passenger info
- Flight info
- Products
- Consumer interactions
When multiple items are entered within a parameter, the details of each item must be separated by a pipe “|”. This must be consistent across the descriptions. The “|” must be included even if an additional parameter is blank for an item.
——————————————————-
Example:
Our order has a T-shirt and pants. The T-shirt has name, description, SKU, and quantity, while the pants only have name and quantity. The row should look as follows:
Product Name, Product Description, Product SKU, Product Quantity
black T-shirt | pants, black T-shirt description | , 567787|, 1|1
——————————————————–
Spaces can be used but are not necessary.
The maximum length or format applies to each item independently.
The remaining parameters are considered “regular” and can contain only one value.
Repeat File Uploading
If you need to upload a file a subsequent time, either because there was an error the first time, or you just want to edit some of the data, you must pay attention to the following:
- Fields marked as “mandatory” cannot be overwritten.
- Any parameter provided overwrites the previous version.
For example, if the first time you entered a shirt and pants in the product name, and now you want to add shoes, you must send a file that includes all three items. If you only enter the shoes, that is the only item that appears (the shirt and pants are overwritten). - If you leave a parameter blank, the previous value remains as is.
- The best practice is to send only those fields that need to be changed. Any field that is not included when the file is sent the subsequent time remains unchanged.
Validations
When your CSV file is uploaded to the server, it is validated for the following:
- The file extension is CSV and the format is comma delimited.
- The file size does not exceed 2MB.
- Any technical errors (for example: a connection error).
- Security demands – Nuvei uses an external service that detects whether the file has some malware.
Any file that fails validation appears in the pop-up that opens when the files are chosen for upload, along with reason for failure.
Uploading Batch Files
To upload a batch of files:
- From the Menu bar, select Risk > Pre-chargebacks > Data Enrichment. The Data Enrichment page is displayed.
- Select the relevant client from the Client Name drop-down.
- Select the type of transactions you wish to upload: Internal or External.
- Internal – Uploads files to provide additional data for transactions that were processed by Nuvei.
- External – Uploads files to provide data for transactions that were processed through other PSPs.
Once you select Internal or External, the Upload CSV File section appears.
- In the Upload CSV File section, either press to select your file to upload or drag the files to the box area; a window opens to show the upload progress.
- Press Close when the upload finishes. A list of the successfully uploaded files now appears below the Upload CSV File section.
You can press to remove a file from the list of files to be uploaded from the folder to the server. - Press Continue Processing to upload the files to the server. You are redirected to the View Uploaded Files tab.
View Uploaded Files Tab
A table of the uploaded CSV files is presented in the View Uploaded Files tab.
Files that were successfully uploaded are processed to Nuvei servers. This tab serves as a second validation for data integrity.
You can filter the results by time period and press .
The following table describes the columns that are shown in the table:
Table Column | Description |
---|---|
Batch ID | The batch ID generated by the service once a file is uploaded. |
Uploaded Rows | The number of rows that were successfully uploaded from the CSV file. |
Upload Status | The status of the file upload: Successfully Uploaded – Transactions were successfully uploaded in the system. Partially Uploaded (has errors) – Part of the transactions were successfully uploaded, while some failed. In Process – The second validation and uploading process is still in progress. Failed to upload due to temporary technical problems – This is usually due to a connection error. It is recommended that you wait a few minutes and then try the upload again. Failed Format Validation – File is in the wrong format due to invalid or missing required columns. |
Errors | The icon appears in the Errors column for files that did not finish to upload due to a technical issue. If you press the icon, a file is downloaded containing only the rows with an error. In addition, a new Error Description column is added to the file that describes the error. You should correct the error and upload the file again. |
File Name | The name of the file as saved by the merchant on his local device. A blue dot indicated a newly (with the last 24 hours) uploaded file for quick reference. |
Client Name | The client name. |
Upload Date | The upload date. The column is sorted new to old by default. Use the arrows to change. |
File Size | The file size. |
