The following guide is for plugin version 1.3.0 and above. For older versions, adding a Subscription plan for the Simple product is not possible. Also, mixing products with a plan with any other products is not allowed. Those limitations are removed as form v.1.3.0.
Creating a Subscription
- Go to the plugin settings: WooCommerce > Settings > Payments tab, and press Manage in the Nuvei row.
- In the Plugin settings, go to the bottom and press Download Payment Plans.
The plugin retrieves all of the merchant’s active plans. They can be managed via the Control Panel. If there are no active plans, a default one is created based on the merchant’s Site ID. If the download is successful, a checkmark and the date of the last download appear. - Go to the Product > Attributes menu. A new attribute named Nuvei Payment Plan appears.
The user must set all plans as terms in the Nuvei Payment Plan attribute. - Press Configure terms. All plans, if any, and a form to create new plans appear.
Creating a Plan
- Enter Name (it is visible in the Store later).
- (Optional) Enter Slug and Description.
- Select Plan ID by its name. In this menu, the merchant sees all of its active plans from the Control Panel.
- Enter Recurring Period (frequency).
- Enter Recurring End After (when recurring ends).
- Enter Trial Period.
- Press Add new Nuvei Payment Plan.
Creating Simple Product
- Go to Products > All Products menu.
- Select a product to edit.
- From the Product data dropdown list, select Simple product.
- Go to the Attributes menu.
- From the dropdown list, select Nuvei Payment Plan and press Add.
- Press the newly added Attribute to expand its details. Press Value(s) input and select Only one plan. This is your default plan for this product. It is recommended to describe plan details in the Product description section.
- If you check the Visible on the product page checkbox, the name of the payment plan is visible in the Store > product page > Additional information.
- Press the Save attribute button, and the product is ready.
Creating Variable Products
- Go to Products > All Products menu.
- Select a product to edit.
- From the Product data dropdown list, select Variable product.
- Go to the Attributes menu.
- From the dropdown list, select Nuvei Payment Plan and press Add.
- Press the newly added Attribute to expand its details. Press Value(s) input and select as many plans as you need, or press Select all to add them.
- Select the Used for variations checkbox.
- If you select the Visible on the product page checkbox, the name of the payment plan is visible in the Store > product page > Additional information.
- Go to the Variations tab and create variations based on the Nuvei Payment Plan in Attributes.
These variations are the visible Options for the product in the Store. - Expand the variations and set the details for any of them.
Store View
In the Store, the Simple products with a Payment plan look as other simple products:
The Variable products look slightly different:
And when the customer select it, the product page opens allowing to choose an option:
If the customer selects more than one product of the same Variation, a single Subscription is still created, but the charged amount is multiplied by the product quantity.
For each different Product/Variation, a separate Subscription plan is activated.
The Subscriptions start after the order is completed via the Settle and Sale transaction or after the Auth transaction with zero total amount. The Zero-Auth can not and does not need to be settled.
In WooCommerce > Orders menu, the Orders with Plans are marked as shown below:
When you open the Order details, the information for all transactions and subscriptions is available as Order notes.
In the Item section for each Product with a Subscription plan, the Nuvei Subscription ID is displayed. If the Subscription plan is active, the Cancel Subscription button is also available.
